Hand embroidered art inspired by nature

'Yet mark'd I where the bolt of Cupid fell:
It fell upon a little western flower,
Before milk-white, now purple with love's wound,
And maidens call it, Love-in-idleness.'

A Midsummer Night's Dream - Act II Scene I

All of my work is inspired by the nature of the British isles, from the rarest orchid to the clover growing in my back garden. Where possible I base my designs on photographs I have taken myself and these can be seen in my photography section. Each piece is hand embroidered using fine floss silk thread. The technique I use is a combination of needle painting and my own freestyle. Each design can take many painstaking hours to complete. I use the smallest needles I can find and have a magnifying lamp to help with the tiny stitches.

A selection of my work is available to buy through my Etsy shop and also my Folksy shop
